How to view the different levels of the Calendar in Moodle.

The Calendar displays four types of events, Global, Course, Group, and User. Activities in a course that have a due date associated with them will auto populate a Course Calendar event on the specified due date. The Calendar can have different levels or views to display dates, events, and  more.

Locate the Calendar block and click the month link.

This will open the Calendar in the main area of the page.


To view a specific month navigate using the arrow buttons at the top left and right corners.

This is a fast way to jump back and forth between months.


View the Calendar and events.

The key at the bottom of the calendar depicts background colors associated with different event types. (These colors are determined by the Moodle theme for the course.)


To hide specific group of events, click on the "click to hide" link.

Note: The January 28 (green) event on this example Calendar is a Global event and will not be displayed when Global events are hidden.


To unhide a specific group of events, click on "click to show."

Note: The event returns when shown.
