Online text assignment is useful for writing to be done online and submitted for grading—think of it like a brief, reflective assignment that is between the student and instructor. Create this type of assignment to have students submit text using the normal Moodle editing tools. Grade online and even add inline comments or changes. The Inline comments feature allows for direct edits or comments on student work from within Moodle. This can save time from downloading documents, tracking changes, and uploading again. Follow the steps below to grade an Online assignment.
Navigate to the assignment within the course and click on the title.
Click on the "View/grade all sumbissions" link below the Grading summary.
Click on "Grade" or "Update" in order to review the assignment.
"Update grade" will appear instead of "Grade" if the activity has previously been graded or viewed by the instructor.
Review the student's submission, give a grade and feedback.
1. Student's submission.
2. Click drop down menu, select a score.
3. Type feedback in the text area.
Click one of the four buttons below.
*Save changes will save feedback and close the window.
*Cancel will leave grading interface.
*Save and show next will save feedback and bring up the next ungraded assignment.
*Next will advance to the next "ungraded" assignment, without saving any feedback.
